Are You Beat Up?

Feeling worthless?
Like you’ve been chewed up and spit out?
Tormented by evil?
Controlled by demanding people?
Can’t do anything right no matter what you do?
You’ve lost your anchor.
You’re drifting.

Get Time Out!
Get alone.
Just you and your Bible.
Read.
Read about your worth to God—the Creator of the world.
He sent His Son for you.
Not because you were worth it, but because He loved you anyway.
Think about His Word.
As you read His Word, feel Him surround you with His love.
Sit at the feet of Jesus.
Get anchored in His truth.

You’ve listened to Satan for too long.
Ignore his lies that you’re not good enough, you can’t do it, you’re a loser.
Your worth is not determined by people, or your ability to do something.
Instead remember you’re a child of the King, an heir with His Son— saved, redeemed, chosen. And loved.
Your worth is defined by the God Who gave you worth.

You’re trying to figure out what you should do and how to respond to others.
Give your steps to God and concentrate on Him.
He will direct your path.

He’s created an escape from this world’s torment.

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape, also so that you will be able to endure it. I Corinthians 10:13.

What’s that escape?
It’s called being in His presence.

When you live every moment in His presence, evil cannot harm you.
He is there in power, might and strength.
It is His strength that overcomes, not yours.
Don’t dwell on the past—that’s already covered in the blood.
Don’t fear for the future—that’s planned by God.
Live to praise Him now.
Refocus—not on what you should do, but on Who God is.
Give Him praise.
Think about His attributes.
Thank Him for Who He Is.
He is faithful.
Just.
Holy.
All-Powerful.
He will make all things right.
As you shift your thoughts to Him, He will direct your ways.

That burden you carry will be lightened, because it no longer is yours to carry.
Nor is it what you think about.
Think not about the burden, but about the Burden-carrier.
He is the One Who gives the strength to carry it.
Pray back His Words. They are powerful.
Try Ephesians 3:14-21. A great prayer.

Need answers?
Ask.
Listen.
Wait for it.
While you wait, thank Him for the answer He already has coming.
Don’t be in a hurry.
Do what He says.

Breathe in His Spirit of Truth.
Breathe out the acts of His will.

His Spirit holds a shield protecting you from darts Satan throws at you.
Are your knees buckling under the attack?
Regrip the Sword of truth.
Repeat the praises of God.
His attributes display power.
Wipe the sweat off your hand and hold that shield out.
His sustaining grace undergirds you.
Repeat that praise.

When we live our lives in His presence with praise, we have joy—though circumstances are very evil.
God is with us.
That is cause to praise Him.

In Your Presence is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11.
The Joy of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10.

Controlling, demanding people are captives of Satan, obeying his will.
Pitiful subjects.
Commanding fiends.
But powerless against our God.
Don’t continue to live like they control you.

Greater is He that is you, than he that is in the world.

By staying in His Word, through God’s Spirit, we can live with joy and show God’s love and power.
Grab that truth.
Live in God’s presence.

I write about what matters...to you---
women, wives and moms---
about your family, faith and future.
I write about what's hard, what helps and what heals.
I show you how it's done. And not done.
I hold your hand as you find what matters to the Savior.
And let go of those things that mattered to you, but not to Him.
I write about what matters...to Him.
